I just need a little confirmation am I right when I told my buddy that trigger and hammer pins are not supposed to be tight within their respective holes that there is a little natural movement.I assume that the hammer J pin fits in the hammer pin groove in the middle and the tails of the hammer spring fit in the trigger pin groove and its the spring pressure that holds it all together?I notice on my pins one side potrudes a little more on one side of the receiver while the other side fits flush .Is this normal?and is a little play normal within the pin holes?I am not getting pins walking out so I dont think there is really a problem and hadnt really given any thought to it till my buddy brought it up.thanks...BDM:D

Pins should be fairly tight in the holes, otherwise you get a mushy, inconsistant trigger pull.

but its the spring pressure that makes them tight right?other wise when its dissasembled the pins pass right through the holes with no resistance.

Not only will loose pins give you a mushy trigger pull, but with use they will wear on the receiver and make it easier and easier for the pins to come out (the spring leg should still hold them in). You may purchase oversize pins if your holes are loose...that way you can prevent the wear. The pins should not be so small that they will pass through without the spring there. In my world that is asking for lost points!

I just put together my lower yesterday, and it took some effort to get the pins into place. It was not like driving in a roll-pin, but I tapped lightly with a plastic hammer.
