I am thinking of buying a savage in .22lr and am wondering if semi-auto can be had in left hand. I have heard that the ejection on the savages can be a problem for lefthanders in the semi-auto models. Is there anyone who has some experience in this area?

Semi autos are not available from Savage in Left Hand models. Bolt actions are, and I have owned a couple. My favorite rimfire bolt is my Savage 93GL in .22mag. I was shooting some great groups at 50 yards yesterday.

If you're looking for a .22 autoloader that won't ping you with the empties, a Ruger 10/22 should fit the bill nicely. I've never had a problem with them.

OTH, if you change your mind and want a bolt action, definitely look at the Savages. I have a Mark IIGL (.22 LR) and a 93GL (.22 Magnum) with which I am very pleased.

I got a Savage 93R17-GLV , its in 17HMR. took it out for the first time today. its dead on at 50 yrds. and i took 4 quick shots at 100 yrds and two where in the bullseye and two where just 1/4" above the bullseye. 2" group for all 4.

it was really fun to shot.

i have two semi autos in left hand , Browning BAR and stag arms model 1, those are the only two ive seen in left hand
