How can an individual sell a handgun to an individual in another state. My specific question is if I arrange to sell a handgun to an individual in another state, may I; without aa FFL; ship my handgun to a FFL dealer of the buyers choice? Or do I need a FFL dealer here to ship it to the buyer's FFL dealer. Is the procedure different if I were to sell a long gun?

As far as the feds are concerned the answer is yes, but you can't use USPS, you need to use a common carrier such as FedEx or UPS.

Same procedure, except you can use USPS to ship a long gun.

P.S. What state are you in?
 
FedEx and UPS can be a pain to deal with. I suggest looking up their policies on the web, following them to the letter, and bringing a copy with you when you ship the firearm.
