Hi,

I purchased a new Glock G29 yesterday and when I got it home I noticed how horrible the frame to slide fit is. Not only that, the slide overhangs the frame by about 1/32". My G26 is not loose at all. This is the 7th Glock I've owned so far (I currently only have the G26 left), but can't recall any of the others being like this.

What do you guys think about this? Do any of your Glocks exhibit this kind of looseness?

My G29 is as tight as all of my other Glocks, that sounds a bit odd. Maybe you could give Glock a call and see what they say? Where does it hang off the slide? Front, back, leftside, rightside? My G29 slide sits about 1mm in front of the frame.

I have a really used Sig that is like that, but have never seen a new Glock or Sig that was particularly loose.

Take it back if ya can some places will exchange them or call glock. That sure doesnt sound right for a new gun

My 3rd Gen G19's slide has some play in it, but it doesn't overhang any. My G26 is tight as a vault, but the G19's play I attributed to the longer slide. I would be concerned with the overhang though.

Gotta read the initial post carefully.

He's complaining about 1/32". That's 0.031".

WTH? Did he mic it all over?

My glock's slide hangs over the front about a mm, and it does shift laterally about a mm or so.. even rocks side to side several hundredths of a degree too... Glocks are notorious for less-then-drum-tight slide to frame lockup... But the slide-barrel lockup is like a vice.. which is where your sights are anyway so why does it matter? :D

I don't know if it matters, that's why I was asking.

Like I said, I don't recall any of my other Glocks being this sloppy.

I realize it isn't a 1911, but still I didn't expect this. :(

I've never seen a Glock that was "bank vault tight" with the slide to frame fit. They're ALL quite loose. That's the nature of the beast. But if you have one that's significantly looser than all the others you've seen, maybe there is a problem with it.

OK, I'll just shut up and shoot it. If it does ok, I'll be fine with it. Just looking for the opinions and comments from others. Not trying to be a whinebag or anything, but just didn't think this looked normal.

Thanks,

Greg

I don't have a digital camera yet. I keep spending any extra money I have, (or don't have) on guns and ammo. :p

My Wife's been bugging me here lately about getting one because she wants to do ebay, so I'll probably have 1 soon. Maybe I can post a pic then

Sorry if it sounded harsh greg, we're not trying to bust your chops here. ;)
