Here in post-Newtown CT, .22 LR versions of AR models are hot sellers, the .223 versions having all been banned for sale. Most retailers have the S&W M&P 15/22; however, I'm a bit put off by all the plastic.
Our very own Stag Arms (staying put for the moment, apparently) is selling .22 LR versions of its products, which are visually indistinguishable from its offerings in .223 and are all -steel, so they handle the same as well.
I'm interested on one of these, now that .22 LR ammo seems to again be making an appearance. Has anyone here shot one of these? Also, I assume that these rifles have been modified somehow so that a .223 upper will not fit, this being the land that has banned the sale of all centerfire black rifles. Is this correct?
