Ok guys I need somehelp, if this is in the wrong section please move it.

I live in California and I want to build a ar, Is it possible to order the parts for one and have them be cali legal? And if it is do I have to have them shipped to a ffl holder? Or can I have the parts shipped to my house and assemble it there over time as I buy them? And can someone provide links to sites where I can get everything I need to make a 600-700 dollar ar?

P.S. Wouldn't people need a background check for this?:what:

Someone who lives in Kalifornistan can tell you better than I, but as far as I know, you can't buy/build/own a new AR15 over there because of their proprietary version of the AWB. You can get those FAB10 things with a pinned magazine well that loads by splitting the upper and lower in half - they only hold ten rounds at a time though.

The information you seek is here:
http://www.calguns.net/copmemo2.pdf

They also have a forum at calguns.net, which I'm sure has lots of info you'll need.
What ARs are available seem to be pretty heavily neutered it looks like.

As to the "background check" - yes.
The receiver (the part that holds the trigger group and has the serial number stamped on it) has to be transferred through a dealer, and he will run some kind of check on you when you buy it.
