I did a search for gun cleaning and got 10000 threads. So...
I've got this old Sears Robuck 12 gauge bolt action shotgun that my friend gave me for free. I cleaned it to the best of my ability using nitro solvent and 00 steal wool. I was able to pull most everything apart except for the trigger assembly. I'm not exactly a gun smith, but I don't think I can break it down anymore. Anyways, the hard to reach areas are full of rust, oil build up, fuzz, the works.
The gun is not exactly anything I want to put money into, but I'd at least like to say I cleaned it up to the best of my ability. Are there an tricks to cleaning something I can't break down? Can I dip it? Spray it? Or should I just start punching out pins? Thing is, if I punch out pins, I don't foresee this gun going back together.
