Thanks:

Many questions arise from tragedy yet few have the courage to seek an honest response. So we seek the easy path and immediately blame those who didn’t do it. Maybe that’s human nature since it continues to repeat with predictable results making the underlying problem worse since the real solution was never of interest in the first place.
Hatred, anger, dishonesty and political malfeasance are more deadly than all of the bullets in the world put together. With a fraction of our $2 trillion annual healthcare expense going to caring about healthcare, for example, it’s no wonder that we don’t have the resources to identify and treat mental illness. We care more about politics where we cheapen life in many other ways as well and then are shocked by the result that we created.
Even before guns (where protection was more difficult) violence was worse and government often the source of atrocities. What confuses most, then, is why so many of us are so intoxicated by the power of government authority. We can even say that we’re pro-gun as long as someone else (usually a government authority) does it. Taking guns away from the law-abiding really just transfers them away from those who equate firearms to saving lives, stopping crime and protecting others.
We forget history, embrace defenselessness and go to great lengths to force others to behave as dangerously. World peace didn’t exist before guns and is not threatened by the law-abiding gun owner who is among the most disciplined, responsible, considerate and non-aggressive among us.
Now, as much as ever, lawful firearm ownership and legal concealed carry is one of the most moral things a person can do if they so choose. But if you still need an answer you might first consider looking in the mirror rather than creating even more gun-free “safe zones”.
