X-PRESS SHELL HOLDERS X-PRESS shell holders make the nicest single stage press, the fastest. A word about X-PRESS shell holders. The X-PRESS shell holder allows easy automation on the APP press, however, the pass through design reduces the amount of “pull” that can be applied to the cartridge. That said, we do not recommend full length resizing rimless bottle neck cases. If you insist, we suggest using only Lee dies and Lee case resizing lubricant # 90006. Only Lee dies include a built-in stuck case remover in the event you damage a rim and stick a case.

This is clearly stated in the manual for the APP ( very top of page 3 ).......Could be your problem.......

.....and the fact that LEE states they are the only dies with a built in stuck case remover is horse ptooey........I've got Dillon dies that have that.....

A warning to me is a suggestion to try! with enough cooking spray, it works and fast too.

what is this stuck case feature on the die?

it’s a lube / die issue. I had the same stuck issue with in my Lyman and RCBS shell holder. Ripped the rim thing right off. after polishing and cooking spray… problem solved!

77 posts on a stuck 223 case?? Good Grief!:what:

Apparently, many of us have stuck a 223 case in the die. :uhoh:

Some of us have had dreams about performing the "Lee Procedure." Yeah, I know it's weird, but 5.56 cases have a high surface-to-volume ratio, which makes them a real PITA. Haven't tried the Dremel/Flitz to polish the die, but it's on The List.

For the record, I use ISO-Heet and 80W gear oil 10:1. Spritz in a baggie, let them dry before sizing. I pin-tumble in laundry detergent to remove the oil. Scentless, unless you like "April Fresh" at the range.

Good to hear the cooking spray is working. I forget how i came up with the idea.
that cooking spay is the best thing since …. well Cooking Spray! Brass will have to be washed in the wet tumble @Poper gifted me! Recipe my brother told me was a dash of soap and a sprinkle of lemon shine

I’m going to try again on my good Ole’ Rock Chucker. See if it’s the die, I’m going to use a good amount of LUBE. If that doesn’t work. Polish the insides!
i put my brass in a baggie and spray a good amount of one shot into then seal the bag a jiggle the brass around, seems to work well for me. you also might consider tossing your die into your tumbler/cleaner to ensure there's not caked on lube in them
