DSCN2948.jpg I have a child on the way and need some money. I have a 18.5 Mossberg 590A1 ( aluminum trigger group, alum safety, heavy barrel) that I am planning on selling. It has rifle sights, a laminated, wood, riot style forearm in nutmeg color, and a M500 buttstock, in plain birch, with a NECG grind-to-fit pad. The stock has a professional made, professional looking repair to it. All in all a great defense gun that is in about 90% shape with some scratches and wear and tear probably from a police arms room rack. I'd like to post it in the for sale section of this site. Don;t want to rip off the seller but would like to get my moneys worth from it. What would be a fair asking/selling price? I was thinking around 325. I'd like to hear your opinion. Please help me guys!

I think $325 is a tough sell, that stock set is funky and not original to the gun, plus it is damaged. Really I would think $275 tops. That's just me though, a gun is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, which might be twice that much, you never really know.

Lots of people looking for wood stocks for these. Good price imo

But lots of people want CORRECT wood stocks for these... not sure what the OP has, but one hardwood and one laminate piece with repairs isn't what most people are looking for, but maybe 1KPerDay is?

I'm thinking like Cooldill that a used Model 590A1 with mismatched furniture and a repaired section might turn off some potential buyers. A new Model 500, wood stocked with two barrels, would run about $350 to $360. I'm thinking $325 might be a tad high; somewhere between $250 to $275 would probably be a more realistic price range. Maybe price it at $299 and see what happens.

Personally, I would remove the wood furniture and look for a cheap black plastic factory stock and fore-end for that Mossberg. It will be easier to sell if everything looks like it matches. Looking around I see new 590A1s selling for about $450-500. I bought mine new ten years ago for about $420. So i would say $350 is fair is the stock is a matching set.

Like Cooldill said, there's pretty good demand for 500 series wood stocks. I would try selling the stock and fore-end seperately.

One hardwood and one laminate piece with what appears to be an aftermarket barrel of some flavour. Kind of suspect you'd be lucky to get $250. Maybe if you refinish the butt stock to a closer match to the fore stock. It's strictly a cosmetic thing mostly, but the rear sight shouldn't be in the barrel.
