Just picked this up from the dealer the other day and got out to shoot it yesterday. I ran 100 rounds of cheap and nasty FMJ though it, then 16 rounds (2 magazines) each of an Eastern European very hot HP with an extremely blunt nose, on old batch of Corbon 90 gr. HP with a blunt nose, Winchester 95 gr. HP, and finally some Hornady 90 gr. FTX which it will stay loaded with. Each magazine holds 8 rounds, and it only ships with one by the way. Midwayusa.com has spares for around $26 ea. which is the cheapest I found them.

Firstly, all the ammunition fed and fired fine, the Eastern European stuff has been problematic in every .380 I've shot it in but I had no issues in the Walther. Recoil is very mild as to be expected, although it's fairly lightweight it is a mid size frame and uses a locked breech design rather than a straight blowback. I didn't actually measure any groups as I was just trying to wear it in a bit but the groups with all the HP ammo appeared to be suitable for a defensive firearm.

The ergonomics are superb, this was bought primarily for my wife who has severe rheumatoid arthritis and besides the Walther P22 she says it's the most comfortable pistol she has ever held. Some people won't like the magazine release, in the bottom of the trigger guard like the PPS I picked up last week, but it does work easily with positive magazine ejection. My wife can even rack the slide on this one, the first semi auto she can do that with.

If they would only put a PPS quality trigger in it I would call it perfect. Double action pull averaged 12 pounds and a couple ounces and is as long as you would expect, the single action pull on mine averages almost 7 pounds, it's crisp but that's just too heavy in my mind. I was ruined by the really smooth 6 pound pull on the PPS I guess so now expect more from Walther.

In any case I'm very satisfied with it now, if the trigger doesn't loosen up in a couple of hundred more rounds I may have to get it worked on though.

As an instructor I have found these to be superb guns for people that have difficulty racking slides. The only challenge is field stripping with that long recoil spring. Until I read the manual and found the tool it was a job.
