I've been pocket-carrying about 75% of the time over the last year. Most recently, I went from a Kahr PM9 to a Walther PPS. The PM9 was just no fun to practice with, whereas the slightly larger Walther feels like a real gun and I can shoot it all day.

Needless to say, these things are cyclical ... That slightly larger PPS pocket-carries fine in some pants but is pretty snug in others, so I started thinking small again. I don't want to sell the PPS like I sold the Kahr--the PPS is probably the best carry gun ever made--so the PPS has been getting IWB duty and now there's a Ruger LCP in my front pocket.

I finally understand what people mean when they say "you'll forget it's even there." WOW this thing is small. The trigger is surprisingly smooth, and the whole thing feels pretty good in the hand when the finger extension is on the magazine.

I didn't realize it's not a true DAO gun--you can't pull the trigger again for a second hammer strike--but I guess that's how they made the trigger as good as it is.

So now I've gone full circle and there's a (very) small gun in my pocket. :)

yeah i picked up a kel tec p3at a few weeks ago...love it....first time i took it out to the range i brought my PF9 and my s&w 5906 with me....after shooting the P3AT the PF9 seems huge and the 5906 feels like your holding a cannon

I hear ya' Shmackey. The LCP just disappears in a front pocket. I'm now able to carry all the time, which just isn't feasible with a holstered gun for me in my life

That's the key right there. Maybe 10 years ago I could've had my CCO on my hip all the time. But given how my life is right now, with work and family and such, there's just no way.

Speaking as someone who's pocket-carried at least three 9mm pocket guns, I can confidently say that this little LCP is in a different league in terms of portability.

I've pocket carried for years, started out with a P3AT, loved owning (but not carrying) a Colt Mustang, currently toting an LCP, it's a good gun.

I bought one for my daughter

and liked it so much that I had to buy a second one for myself. I just bought her the new LC9 and I might have to buy another for me as well. I NEVER thought I would carry two guns but the LCP is so convenient to carry that I often carry it in addition to my 1911 and 2 spare mags. If you keep it in you pocket a lot be sure to clean it often.
