Started resizing some RWG 5.56 in my RCBS Small Base dies & dropped them into a Lyman case Gage, some fit perfect, while most were a "hair" high.

Ran some WCC & TZZ thru & they fit perfect.

Anyone run into this? Shoulder issue?

Any issues w/reloaded as such and running thru a Rock River or Galil/Golani as long as full length mic's out?

Thanks in advance!

First a clarification: My Radway Green headstamp says RORG, not RWG. Just clarifying.

I don't have a Rock River or Golani. I can't tell you if your ammunition will run through those rifles. I also do not have small-base sizing dies, just a standard full length die.

I've never had a problem with RORG in any of of my seven AR-15 rifles, all have uppers made from military contract parts. The only commercial AR upper on my shelf is 9mm.

Harder brass will not get the shoulder pushed back quite as much as softer brass.

All it means is you haven't got your sizing die adjusted correctly. Screw it in until you feel the shell holder bump when the handle cams over.

Adjusted properly, you wouldn't have needed Small Base dies either.

I've used standard dies for going on 40 years now for several .223 rifles without any problems.

ants - Correct on your clarity, it's RORG I'm working with; went w/small based in that was recommended for semi's.

rcmodel - Thanks, set it per RCBS directions; down till it hits the cam, back cam off, then 1/4 turn down more. Weird part is so far TZZ & WCC don't have any issues & the some of the RORG don't either... Head scratching time...

rc is right about the harder brass not being sized as much. As it work hardens it sizes back less as well.

Adjust it as rc posted, and it should fit the gauge. That said, some of mine will be a hair high in the gauge sometimes, but my chambers don't care, so all is well. :)
