My good friend, freshly moved from Buffalo, and I will be heading out to Range 1 probably sometime in the next couple weekends. That's a pretty easy drive from Fayetteville.
I need to test out my newly-acquired Norinco SKS, as well as exercise a few of my handguns. We might put a few slugs through my friend's shotgun as well.
What I plan on bringing to the range that day:
Norinco SKS 7.62 x 39
CZ-52 7.62 x 25
Possibly one of my Makarov's or the Spanish Llama .380, we'll see.
As for my friend
Mossberg 500
Beretta M9
And possibly either his S&W .40 or his FEG PA-63 in 9x18 Makarov.

I hate to bust you guy's bubble but Range one is closing June 15th. I thought about heading down there myself until someone over at TFL informed me of it's closing. Are their any ranges that allow rifles down there in Fayetville?.

I spoke with the owner of Range 1 yesterday and he told me they were closing and selling off the inventory.
They are having a big sale this weekend.

There is a range in Wayne County in Dudley ( Google maps ) I just found out about. They have been open since Sept. '05. They have 100 yd. rifle, covered 25 yd pistol with cable target holders and a second pistol bay with plates, poppers and a mover. I was just out there Sunday with my AR and M1 carbine.cmw2212 said:

Range in Wayne County
I don't have any range experience, except for qualifying for a CCW permit. I shoot every couple of weeks on a kinperson's place.
I live in Lenoir county, so Dudley is doable for me. I would be shooting a 9mm Witness mostly. That is, if I'm not intruding?

I'm down in Charlotte. I shoot fairly often at Shooter's Express in Belmont,(.45 & AR-15). If I can get some free time I can probably meet up with y'all up in your neck of the woods.

The only gun club I know of around here is the Sir Walter Gun Club (http://www.sirwaltergunclub.com/). They may have in-club matches for rimfire, but membership is in excess of $500 last time I checked.

I might be interested. I was planning on going to the Wake county range on Saturday to plink with the AR, but this might justify a change of plans.
