Range Bag Recommendations?

I have a regular bag and now I am looking for an aluminum one on wheels. I saw one when flying out of KC once. Guy was going on safari and had a couple of real nice SXS rifles that looked like they kicked.

A fell'a showed me a very nice, rather large range bag the other day that
he had purchased from Midway USA; but the manufactuer's name escapes
me at the moment~! :scrutiny:

I use a smaller, well made range bag with divided interior; and covered
"pockets" for accessories on either end, and with zippered compartments
in the front and back. Just a minute, and I will seek out the name on the
front of this bag. It says "Guard Force" on the front. Its very sturdy, with
an excellent carry handle.

Also, I have a metal "box" like range bag with deep interior for carrying
anything from cased handguns, to extra ammo or loaded magazines. Its
made by ADG Sports. Another excellent item, with a calibrated locking
system.

If memory serves me correctly, I gave 'bout $20 for the "Guard Force"
bag, and right at $30 for the ADG Sports metal box~?

FootNote FWIW: Actually, the proper name for the "Guard Force" bag is:
Vanguard Hampton #29 Range Bag; and the ADG Sports Box is:
Two Pistol Aluminum Range Box or Case

found a G.H. BASS & CO bag at the thrift store many years ago. 24"x10x10 , quilted , light colored inside, green canvas outer, leather buckles and trim, 2 outside pockets- perfect for my needs

For those of you folks with silly laws about transporting firearm and ammo in separate locked containers (I'm guessing they're afraid the ammo is going to jump into the gun while you're driving). What's your bag(s) of choice?

I use a large plastic tool box and it works well. It mostly just carries ammo. The guns have their own cases. It's not perfect, but after seeing it, my brother and 2 friends bought similar set ups.

It works and its cheap!

also, if you get a hard plastic toolbox, make sure it's big enough. you cant squish more boxes in. Make sure the interior can be used to hold what you need to.

Handheld video camera bag....

It was in a house I rented. I tossed the junky camera and it holds ammo, tools, cleaning rods and other misc range stuff. I use it as my rifle rest too. It lives in my 5 gallon kitty litter bucket I use for collecting fired brass.

For a large capacity range bag I use,

I bought one of those black plastic 'shooter's tackle boxes' at Wal-Mart or Academy years ago, and it is still going strong. I think it is manufactured by M&M or something similar.

I also bought several padded nylon range bags from Gun Leather Inc. ( www.gunleather.net ) in Fort Worth. They are holding up well also.

If I hadn't been given one of the large Glock range bags, I'd still be using a super cheap, many pocketed gym/duffel bag from walmart.

I bought a big plastic tool box (a bright orange one)--an Israeli-made Stanley for about 15 bucks at Home Depot or Menards. It holds all the essential cleaning gear, ammo, and tools for virtually all my weapons with room for ammo and even a pistol or two.

What it came down to was this; why not have something big enough to store it all in all the time on the workbench so when a pal says 'let's go shoot' it's easy to grab. Plus, I like to clean the weapons outside when weather allows--this puts the tools right there.

A thrift, Sallie, or Goodwill store is often a great place for all sorts of luggage, sometimes almost free. I'm plastic toolboxes too- space for everything except a rifle.

Duluth Trading Company

Here's the best I have used, get a DT Pro, triple threat tool bag $59.50. This thing holds a ton of stuff and doesn't even groan under the weight. Just type Duluth Trading in Yahoo search and go to tool belts and bags.

I did much research after my last bag gave in after more than 10 years of faithful service.

My conclusion was the best bag on the market is the Tournament Series shooting bag from Shooter's Connection (http://shootersconnection.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=135&products_id=130).

I ended up buying another bag, the "Midway Competition shooting range bag." http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=259680

The difference in cost was $100. I have not regretted my decision for a second. It has proven entirely adequate to handle four pistols and all the gear that go with them on every outing.

I do not carry ammo in my range bag. By the time I load it up with my gear it is heavy enough already.

But, it has dedicated slots for a dozen pistol mags and can easily handle four handguns and their accessories. I went to a revolver match a week ago and we did not have enough entries to shoot. A little way down the range there was a USPSA match. I had everything I needed to shoot the USPSA match in the bag.

I have no quality complaints and for $40 it exceeded my expectations.
