This is a limited range report, as I only shot 50 rounds of 124gr Sellier and Ballot through the CZ-75 today. A full report will follow next weekend if I have time to shoot.

I went to the gunshop searching for a Sig P220, and after I test shot a CZ-75B, I came out with it instead.

First Impressions------

1.) This gun has an exceptional feel to it. Indeed, this and sheer curiosity is why I chose to test-fire it instead of a Sig.

2.) The features on the gun really are the best of both worlds. If you want to carry without a safety and rely on a double-action trigger, that's great. Or, if you want to carry cocked and locked, so be it.

3.) The CZ-75B is extremely easy to shoot well. The gun makes a good shot out of you whether you like it or not. The analogy of pulling Excalibur out of the stone comes to mind. I've never shot a CZ before, and I was instantly generating groups of an inch and less at 7 yards. The difference between this gun and the Glock 19 that I just did a range report on was the effort required to shoot these groups accurately. It required extremely little effort to shoot well with the CZ. When I actually have time to shoot several hundred rounds through the CZ-75 in a concentrated slow fire, we'll see if this holds true.

My only complaint about this gun is the rather long trigger reset. Compared to the positives though, this is relatively insignificant. Enclosed with this report is a picture of my target shot at 25 yards with 124gr Sellier and Ballot. I called the flyer at 1 o'clock, it was my fault.

God Bless America!

Welcome to THR!

I too love my CZ 75. It has the most intuitive pointing characteristics for me. it feels amazingly comfortable in my hands, and shoots exquisite groups. I've enjoyed mine so much that I'm eagerly awaiting my next foray into the CZ world....a CZ 85.

My biggest complaint with my CZ 75Bmil is the crappy sights (glow in the dark paint...gimme a break!) and the less-than-stellar internal machining.

Gotta love that CZ. Especially with grips by Hakan:

pssst.... tell him sven sent you! ;)

Welcome & thanks for the report! Very rarely (if ever) do I see anything negative about the CZ's! Congrats ;)

Negative comments about a CZ????? I dont understand that statement  :neener: It just doesnt compute.........

Glad you like your gun...CZ's are a favorite of mine and are indeed great shooters...Enjoy your gun and let us know how it continues to grow on you....

BTW you have the beginning stages of CZ'ITIS.....a disease that is common among CZ owners and frankly has NO CURE! It will benefit your FFL and leave less and less room in your gunsafe. Thank got its not that hard on your wallet.......unless you get alot of them really really quickly.

Shoot well

Appreciate the range report....

I'm always looking for feedback on the CZ 75 since I plan to buy a full-size service 9 mm in the near-future.

Does yours have the de-cocker feature?

I shot a friend's CZ .40 cal and was instantly impressed. I have large hands and the gun fit me like it was custom-made.

Might I ask what you paid? Prices seem to vary widely.

The CZ 75 has the inside track as my next toy.

Welcome to the family...

...of happy CZ-75 owner's...

:D

So much value...I went with these Hogue Grips

It's the one I always choose after having a tough day at the range, because...it understands me ;).

Good luck and safe shooting,

22luvr- I have a CZ-75BD. It is a great gun. Like the guy said, it makes a good shooter out of you. Mine points like an extension of my hand. The only gripe is that with the DA pull, it is a bit long for me. I have big hands, so it isn't unpleasant or impossible, but it could be just a little better.
It has also been more reliable (marginally) than my SIG. It eats anything.
I also like the SIG style decocker that lowers the hammer SOFTLY instead of just letting it fall.
I paid $359 for mine.
