I went out today and tried two different load workups for 223, the good news is with PMC brass, hornady 55g fmjbt and 22.6g of reloader 10x I can get sub inch groups, best was .7"

I also did a workup with varmint nightmare 55g sp I got on sale from mid south shooting supply and 8208xbr and winchester brass. Best group was 2.3" I went from 23g to 24.9g in .3g increments, loaded 5 each and checked my for high pressure each shot

Anyone with experience with similar bullets ever use 8208xbr? I really want to like this powder, meters great, temperature is irrelevant and it is available.

I am going to try the 55g sp with rl10 and varget as well to see if it is the bullet or the powder that wasn't working, any suggestions are always appreciated

Try the same load reloader 10x load you had good results with using the FMJ-BT.

That's a wonderment you got 3/4" groups with them.

I have never used 8208xbr, and never will, as W-748 does everything I could ask for in 55 grain .223 loads for the last 40 years.

Try higher load for the XBR and see if it tightens up. You still have ample room until you reach max.
