All of my shots were from the bi pod assisted prone at a range of 100 yds. The ammo was a mix of Black Hills Match 175grain and Winchester power point 150gr . The initial zeroing went without much struggle with the scopes adjustments being reliable and repeatable. After obtaining a zero a fresh target was placed. The best group of the day was a tightly clustered five shot group measuring .67" with an average five shot group size of ".72" . Which I would expect will be smaller with handloads as well as trying other ammo types. The oversized bolt knob was wonderful making the follow up's much faster. I have to admit I was a little surprised at how much the rifle jumped from the bipod. I'm going to make a concerted effort to shoot in the sling supported prone next time to see if that will reduce the jumping. About the only complaints I have with it as is are with the stock and the recoil pad. The recoil pad is made of a VERY hard rubber which makes the prone position more uncomfortable than it needs to be. Also the stock is relieved to allow the barrel to be free floated however it's entirely too flexible and I have noticed that the stock can be pushed into the barrel fairly easily. All of that being said, my first trip out has shown this setup to have enormous potential for the ever elusive .5 MOA.

Yeah, I don't know where Savage got the pad they use on their stocks. The B&C Duramaxx is outfitted with a Pachmayr, iirc. The Pachmayr 'Decelerator' what I use on my McMillan A-5.
