Kind of a first for me. Going through gear this weekend, put fresh batteries in my Bushnell 1K that's been sitting since last season. Doesn't power up, so check battery and it comes out hot. That's disconcerting. Tried a second battery, same results. On its way back to Kansas for warranty but man I'm glad I didn't just stick a battery in there and drop it in a pack. Both batteries were too hot to hold after just a few seconds.

Oof, glad you caught it.

Let us know how their Customer Service treats you.

Did you have any correspondence with them before sending it in?

No. I checked their online website to confirm the warranty period is 5 years then clicked on the form. It only had a couple of questions and created a service return form. I wrapped it up in a small shipper box at the post office and added insurance. I suspect it will simply be replaced with a new one since I cannot see actually working on these things being cost effective but who knows. I'd be a little leary if it comes back saying fixed with no explanation of what happened in the first place.
