After 39 years my 5-0-5 stopped reading properly.
I picked up a new 5-0-5 at Amazon for $40
The new unit took too long to give a reading.
I took the magnets out of the Chinese & replaced them in the old American unit.
American unit now read as fast as when it was new.

I would rather have one of the old ones that were made in the USA than the crop they have had recently.

They are still under the Ohouas name, Yes made in China. I have a Dillon Eliminator (same scale) that was made here before Ohous went to China. The new China version is pretty much the same just doesn't feel as substantial. That said it works fine, is accurate, repeatable and cheaper.

They didn't change the casting so it still reads "Manufactured by Ohaus NJ" they just add a made in China sticker beside that.

Here is an example of one though.

The top photo was indeed a Dillon Eliminator beam, although that particular one was made in Mexico. I had a batch of five come in all with exactly the same fault.
The lower picture was of a brand new RCBS 10/10 made in China, again, quite typical fault with a lop sided knife edge. As JM says, they are marked "Made by Ohaus NJ" but only on the cardboard box do they actually say where they were made.

As you all probably know, RCBS dropped the 502,505, and 10/10 beam scales from their range last year and introduced two new models, the M500 and the M1000, both made in China.

Here's another wonky Dillon beam:
