I purchased the RCBS bullet feeder die for .380/9mm/.38/.357 on my RCBS turret press. Now I want to use the same setup to load .44 magnum. RCBS offers a larger bullet feeder die for .40 S/W and 10mm, and also one for .45ACP. But the directions don't specify if it can be used on .44 M (.429) bullets. I don't see why the .45ACP feeder wouldn't work, but don't want to buy it and have it not work. Anyone have any first hand knowledge on this unit? Bullets I generally load are Berry's 240gr TMJ plated and Hornady XTP JHP, also 240gr.

Here is the die info

Hard to say and thats a question best asked of RCBS directly if nobody is sure because their website doesnt say either.

I do know this though, the Lee feed dies are hands down the best Ive used, and that includes the DAA dies which have long been considered to be the best. And they make one specifically for 44 Mag.

So, 45ACP bullets are 0.451" diameter and 44 mag bullets are 0.430" diameter.
I don't think an RCBS 45 ACP bullet feeding die will cover that spread of bullet diameters, and I don't know why RCBS does not offer a 44-mag bullet feeding die.
Lee has a new bullet feeding die design that uses ball bearings that might cover than span of diameters.
Nope, Lee offers 2 separate dies:

Sorry for the cross post,

Will the Lee die work with a RCBS turret press?

I see no reason it wouldnt. Its just a standard threaded die that screws in. I use them on my LnL with no issues for 45 and 308.
Its simple to setup. Case in shell holder, run that case up. Put a couple bullets in the die, screw it down until the bullet falls into the case, add about another 1/4-1/2 turn, lock it down.

Ok, for posterity the question is answered. Contacted RCBS and the answer is an unequivocal "No". Will not work with either .44 mag nor .45LC.
Bummer.
May look into the Lee bullet feeder die.

Yup, not going to get much more simple than that

Mine works without issue for .45ACP using bullets from .451" to .453". The smaller (medium) one works with .355" to .358" (9mm to .38Spl)

Looks like Lee may be the answer. Since I load both .45LC and .44M, considering ordering both kits at the same time due to the high cost of shipping these days. I would just hate to order 2 and find out there was an issue with compatibility for some reason (my turret has the RCBS UniFlow powder feed kit installed). Guess I'll mull it over?

Its pretty slim, even with the magazine. I dont see any issues to be honest.

Titan is selling it for $50. ;)

I'm not sure I understand your hesitancy.

The Lee Inline bullet feeder is a standard sized die body that would fit anywhere a regular size die would...is that what you are referring to by "compatibility"?

Mine are working with my Hornady LNL AP, Lee Pro 6000, and Mark 7 Apex-10

Wanted to make sure the magazine attachment would clear my Uniflow turret mounted hopper. Looks like @Kaldor already said it should, so I'll likely go ahead and order both units (.44M & .45LC)

Being that youre in IL, from Titan, it will be there in probably 2 days, if you buy it from them. I buy stuff from them all the time and Im in WI.

I would recommend buying from Titan, Lee stuff is cheaper there and lower shipping too.
