I size a lot of once fired 5.56/7.62 and have used Imperial Sizing Wax with good results. Lubing inside the neck is difficult and tedious for large quantity. I have tried One Shot with decent results but it seems like I have to use a lot of it(aerosol). I tried some Case Slick and it works great. I like the spray pattern and it makes MG fired brass size like butter! More consistent results too.

I use an old Frito Lay box that the small bags come in(wide and shallow). turn it on its side and stack cases like firewood. Set upright, spray at an angle to get inside necks, spread them across the bottom of the box and a couple sprays while stirring them around and done.

Best method yet. Using a Redding SB die in both caliers with carbide expanders. No problems, no build up or dented necks. With the Imperial I tend to over lube and dent necks from my fear of stuck cases. The RCBS product is virtually dummy proof!

The main ingredient is Hexane which is toxic and considered a hazardous material. Making your own spray lube is as simple as mixing alcohol and lanolin. Not only is it cheaper but it's also totally non-toxic. Not knocking the RCBS stuff just saying theres better alternatives.

Good point Otto, but I don't really see a problem with it as long as I am not standing over the cases huffing as the hexane evaporates. I am probably exposed to many times more VOC's filling my gas tanks than I am lubing my cases.

What is the ratio of the mix you describe? How viscous is it?

If you like that Case Slick, you would love Dillon Case Lube. It also sizes bottle necks like butter, and it comes in the same type spray bottle as the Case Slick, but it comes in a larger bottle, and less expensive also, $8 for 8 ounces.

I have great luck with One Shot and 5.56. I never intentionally lube inside the case necks (haven't noted a need for it, possibly enough gets in the neck during the spray/shake process to get the job done) and I get at least 2-3000 cases out of a can.

I just put about 50 cases (50 is a "batch" for me) in a 5 cup Tupperware/Rubbermaid container. Spray/shake/spray/shake. Let sit for 10 mins. or so and you're ready to start sizing/depriming. Sizes smooth as silk. I wipe it off, sort of, with an old undershirt, after sizing. I also do a good hard inspection of the case at that point. Then on to measuring and trimming if necessary.

The process I've outlined above I imagine will work fine with any spray lube. The Hornady seems to cost a bit less. I'll try the RCBS whenever I run out of my current stock of 2 1/2 cans of One Shot.

I'm always looking for the better way to lube the cases. I'm have good luck with One Shot. I also use a quick spray inside the die. It seems to help with the inside of the neck.
