from what i've read here that imperial case sizing wax is one of the best case lube products.

can i use it for lubing the inside of the neck or should i use the imperial dry neck lube for that so i dont contaminate the powder?

I use RCBS water soluble inside and outside my cases. I put a few drops on a nylon bristle brush and run that in the case necks.

Then I wash the cases and dry in a toaster oven at low.

I don't remember if Imperial sizing wax dissolves in water, or even hot soapy water.

As for leaving it in the case neck, I have done that. You get some powder particles stuck, has not caused powder bridging in 308 cases, might in a case of smaller diameter.

Another way is to use graphite over lead shot. Push the case neck in the shot a couple of times and it is good to go. I have found cleaning case necks goes a long way in minimizing runout caused by friction when the expander ball is pulled out of the case.

Another note. I use electric tooth brush to settle powder in very full cases and a 50 BMG deburring tool because it is easier on my hands.

I use imperial wax, and just put the lighest film on my finger, brushing it across the case neck, to lube the necks. Then i leave it in place, as it's such a tiny amount that the expander ball leaves behind...

I've NEVER had one minutes problem doing it that way, it works perfectly.

It's been around for awhile, but we'll be happy to give you credit for it. :)

I'll take all the credit I can get.

Some claim graphite will be too harsh on your dies, I've not experienced that. On the plus side, powder does not stick to graphite like it does the sizing wax ... great lube by the way, best there is.

You can also use mica with steel shot in a cup. I've tried both the mica and the graphite and they both work well.

+1 on graphite. I use a #2 pencil and draw a line around the inside of every other neck. The expander ball comes out as smooth as glass. I too tried the rcbs water-based case lube inside the necks, but the gun powder sticks to it.

I neck size 30-06 with the sizing die backed out the exact width of a US nickel... I still have to lube the brass exterior as it does make contact with the die.

I will have to try the pencil technique. I'm sure I can dig up one of those big fat pencils the kids used when they were younger.

I tried graphite long ago, before i went to Imperial. If anything is sticking to the imperial, you are useing too much. The Imperial is MUCH faster, easier to use and when done properly, works VERY good.

I use the wax on case bodies and their dry neck lube for the necks. And with the neck lube you don't even have to remove it before loading if you are using a progressive press.
