• If the die body is locked down, only to be checked occasionally, then I use the Dillon 1" hex lock nuts which allow the use of a modified 1" box-end wrench from the pawn shop. This is the smallest lock ring you can get and really pays off in tight areas like progressive die holders.
• If the die body is removed from the press, then I use the Hornady clamp-type lock nuts for repeatable placement.
• All other adjustments (such as bullet seating depth) get an o-ring placed under the stock nut so that only hand power is required to tweak the adjustment. The o-ring prevents the adjustment from loosening up due to vibration.
