The case being the same, except for bullet diameter. Can the 6mm CM MIC be used for the 6.5 CM?

It very likely can. I use a Precision Mic in 308 Win. & 30/06. I use the 308 Mic to measure case shoulders on 260 Rem. and the 30/06 Mic for 270 Win. works perfectly for all four cartridges, since all four are set to the same case shoulder family.

The head to datum measurement is the same for both. Is there room in the tool for the 6.5 larger diameter neck?

If your using it as a comparator no problem. If your trying to read the enscribed numbers the length and datum numbers need to be the same.

O/P, This is the biggest question. My 308 Win Mic cannot be used for my 358 Win. My 30/06 Mic cannot be used for my 338/06. My .30 cal bores on both mics cannot accommodate the larger 33 cal or 35 cal bores.

If you already own the 6mm CM RCBS Mic, you will just have to try a 6.5 CM case in it. It's only .5 MM difference or about .020".

If you haven't purchased the RCBS Mic, I would buy the 6.5 CM Mic. It will work for both.
