I'm just curious about real world prices on SKS rifles since the election. I don't find Gunbroker a reliable indicator of what most people are paying for guns in shops and face-to-face sales. I know the supply has seemed to have dried up pretty quick. I found a Chinese SKS in a local shop this week for $235 that was in decent shape and that got me to thinking about what others are seeing in their areas.

Thats about fair price nowadays. I got mine for $ 180 OTD used 5 yrs ago. That is cheap for a SKS esp in today's buying craze.

Ya'll find me a few of these for around $300-$350, would ya?

I'm ready with the cash.

I might even go $355 for a couple of these.

I just bought a Norinco, in really good shape with box and owners manual, spike bayonet and cleaning tools for $325. I thought that was a fair deal, not awesome but fair. I'm in Texas.

I just ordered a yugo in excellent condition with a kit and it hasn't come in yet. I am willing to sell it for $400 shipping included if you are interested. I will even clean it up for you (get the cosmoline out and give a good inspection and bore cleaning with sweets.)

They are not getting any cheaper.
Yugo M 59 was $ 200 OTD 5 yrs ago.
Russian SKS was $ 140 New OTD 13 yrs ago.

DOC; I've only recently developed an interest in SKS's but the stock on that '55 TULA is BY FAR the nicest wood I've seen on any SKS!!

I paid 170 for a yugo retail (cabaelas)and 125 for a chinese ftf just last year now it seems 300 is average for a used yugo. If people would quit buying folks might be able to afford to buy guns again!

Just sold a beat up chinese for 2, saw nice original issue russian for $350, I passed. I did buy the SKS sporter that takes AK mags. $350

A few days after the election, I bought a Norinco SKS FTF for $180 with a polymer stock and the original wood stock. I didn't really buy it as a result of the election, it was just that the seller and I couldn't get together sooner.

Phydeaux642 buy it at that price.

Last gun show was actually not that bad, everyone was focused on AK's.. SKS were at bargain prices, some still in cosmo for 2-250... Yugo and Chinese.

Classicarms.us sales Yugos for $199, they are $225 in our local stores.

Don't understand why there would be a run on SKS's. They aren't on the ban list as of yet. They aren't "high capacity", no scary pistol grip either. I'm glad I have 3 though. I'll probably never shoot my Russian, it's in too good a shape.

Well, I put some money down on the gun today. It has matching numbers and the bore looks pretty darn good. The bayonet is there, but the sling mount on the stock is missing and the wood has a rough spot. Overall, it is pretty good, though.

Here's the other side:

If you really want one they're out there. Next time I run across one I'll send you a pm.

They can get high capacity and have a scary pistol grip real quick and for less than $150. ;)

I've been watching the prices of a well known dealer in classic arms online since May.

Yugo SKS rifles are back down to $200.
AKs are out of stock, but the more expensive ones seem to be running +$100 over the summer prices.

This dealer also had some AR-15s that tell a funny story. Had them all summer at $600 that appeared to sell slowly, dropped them to $550 in August to get rid of them, election spikes them to $750 and they sell out.
