Reasons P365 eaiser to shoot than P938

I have a 938 Extreme, I've tried to love it but I can't. Its just too thin for me to get a good grip and I prefer a DA/SA for carry. I wish Sig would make something similar to the 938 with a slightly longer grip in a DA/SA hammer fired configuration.

I've never fired a 365 but the grip on it looks a little too short for my taste too.

Just curious, do you break your cartridges down for cleaning?

I have fairly large hands and get all three fingers on the 365 with a 12 round magazine. Only room for two fingers on the 938 with extended mag.
Less muzzle flip with the 365 versus the 938. From what you describe I think you might Like a 365.

Sounds like what you're looking for is a Sig p224. Discontinued a couple of years ago but I'm sure they can be found:

Casefull, I have them both, and I have found that neither is easier to shoot than the other. They are both equally easy to shoot. The P365 has displaced the P938 because of its larger capacity and simpler manual of arms. The P938 has been relegated as a stand-by handgun.

try the 12 round mag then or the new 15 rounder

I don't need a double stack pistol for concealed carry. Something along the size/scale of the 938 with a slightly longer grip would be preferable. I handled the 224 back when they were introduced. They had awful balance, very nose heavy.

The magazine well on the Legion version effectively lengthens the grip that I can get three fingers on the gun easily and I wear XL gloves. If you wanted a thicker grip you could replace the grip with the Hougue rubber finger groove grips. They seem significantly wider.

I was going to buy a set but I find the Legion grip thick enough.

I actually prefer a LIGHTER slide and a HEAVIER grip.

The heavier slide will slam forward with more force and cause the front of the barrel to dip downwards, which is why a lot of competition guns lighten the slide by adding ports.

A heavier grip will always produce a more solid platform that a lighter grip, and helps to tame recoil and keep the gun level.

I am thinking that the P938 has a lighter slide and a heavier grip, which IF EVERYTHING ELSE WAS EQUAL should produce less felt recoil, but there are lots of other things that go into the equation as well such as grip size and hand purchase (how high on the grip), etc.

I owned a P938 for many years. I never liked it. It kicked like a mule, and I never felt like I had a good grip on it.

I sold it and later picked up a P365. With the 12 round mags I can get a full grip, it has less kick, wider grip and all that, carries more ammo and sit in my pocket much better than the 938.

The added bonus is I'm a lot more accurate with it.

Interesting. I find my 938 very comfortable to shoot, even with 124 gr +p HST ammo.

Maybe difference in hands, grips size, and ammo is giving me different results.

I did not get the 365 because my 938 was unpleasant to shoot. The biggest reason was magazine capacity. The side benefit of lessened recoil and ability to come back on target is good.
I have a Keltech P 11 that has a lot of muzzle flip and a very light weight slide. I would put the 938 muzzle flip right between the P 11 and the P365.
It's quite hard to design out the laws of physics.

You guys that can't get a full grip on the P938. This may not be of help for you but the P938 Legion has a mag well and all the 3 mags are 7 rds. That may not be enough to give you a full grip but I thought I would mention. I have the P365 and carry it with the 12 rd mag. I find it perfect.
That said, I would like to pick up the P938 Legion at some point just because.

That’s the P938 I have. I wear XL gloves and can easily get all three fingers on the grip.

I really like that gun.

I am trying to fight off the urge to buy the P938 Legion. I will buy another P365 but the Legion keeps calling out to me. God forbid Sig should make the P365 in a Legion model.

Well...

My primary CCW is a 6+1 GLOCK G36 Slimline .45 ACP.

When that is too big (which ain't very often), the Sig P938 9mm goes.

If I was starting from scratch, might be tempted by the GLOCK G48 compact 9mm.

As for the P938, I have found it to be outstanding.

Good crisp trigger, extremely reliable and precise, like < 6" at 25 yards.

Very comfortable to shoot one-handed, with a two-finger grip, with the std. pressure 147 gr. ammo I shoot.

I just grease the rails and shoot the piss out of it.

It is my "tuxedo" pistol.
