ON SPORTS. Lower License Fees are Cheap Bribes is the title of an opinion piece by NYS Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush of Black River,NY.
I saw it today`s edition of the Advance News out of Ogdensburg,NY.

Ken Blankenbush used to be my Assemblyman until the Democrats redrew the districts.

Ken described the NY Safe Act as poorly written ill-conceived law that arbitrarily bans modern rifles, hampers law enforcement`s ability to protect us, and infringes on our privacy and 2nd Amendment rights and will cost $36 million.

Cuomo thinks he can appease outraged sportsmen by throwing them a bone by cutting license fees by 25%. Cuomo thinks he can buy us off with savings ranging from $1 to $10 bucks. Shame on him!
Ken states that for years downstate politicians have ignored sportsmen.
Also. sportsman`s license fees go into the general fund rather than be used to improve hunting and fishing in NY State.

Ken also mentioned there is a bill that would require all gun owners to carry an insurance policy to" protect others from wilfull use of guns to harm others.
Ken`s been an insurance man and said no insurance company will issue policies like that.
He winds up by saying those downstate politicians are shortsighted. don`t understand how their thinking impacts our way of life in upstate NY, not to mention people`s livlihoods.
Ken put it this way- either you value our concerns or you don`t. Stop sending us ridiculous mixed messages.

I tried to send him an e mail but the link didn`t work.So Iwrote a snail mail letter I`ll mail tomorrow.

I also copied that piece, write Cuomo a brief note along with the copy. Frankly I don`t expect Cuomo will ever see it, in fact whoever opens my letter will probably shred it as soon as the see it`s not praising Andrew the Imperious.

I alerted all my buddies to look for that article. I`m going to make up more copies and bring them with me to tomorrow night`s county legislative meeting.Last week, the financial board approved the resolution, tomorrow night the entire board will vote on whether to approve the resolution opposing the safe act. It`ll be interesting to see who flip-flops.:scrutiny:
If they allow me to speak, I`m going to read from that letter and call out the ones who seem more concerned with what downstate politicians want :fire:than what we, the voters of our county want.

So they pass a law requiring insurance that's unavailable, perhaps that's the plan. Not their fault if you can't obtain insurance. On the other hand, maybe that would make the law unconstitutional?

Even if insurance was available, and affordable, it`s still a backdoor route to A) registration B) confiscation following closely on the heels of registration C) complete anarchy since non-criminals will no longer be able to defend themselves and police will find all their resources going to guard govt officials and selected celebrities.
If that`s not their plan, then they`re even stupider than I think they are.

Yeah, I`ve considered that....
But it`d better to round up all members of NY State Government and A) subject them all to FBI background checks, NCIS checks. If they fail send `em to prison for life.
B) If they pass background checks, make THEM obtain one billion dollars insurance to cover damages they cause by legislative malpractice, crooked dealings and violations of both the US and the State`s Constitution.

but tarring, feathering and running Cuomo & cronies out of town on a rail does sound like a lot more fun :D
