My Shield Plus Recluse arrived today. Haven't carried out yet but I like the fit in the Bermuda type shorts I wear 95% of my life.
Yeah, there's a bulge, but only a "gun" person might recognize it for what it is. No unusual smells, either.

I've tried several pocket holsters for this gun and the Recluse is the only one ( so far) that makes pocket carry practical.

Is is the single side or the double sided version? Can you easily get a a grip on your pistol inside your pocket?
It's the double, and yes... it's no problem getting a secure grip. Compared to my DeSantis Nemesis, it is more noticeable when I have my hands on the pistol. I'm not worried about that.
I'll admit ; it isn't the most practical carry method for this particular pistol, but the Recluse makes it not only possible, but quite acceptable.

I think that two sided is necessary to provide a moisture barrier. The inside piece just needs to be formed properly. It may be that the inside piece cannot be formed deeply enough with a single piece of leather without adding a few "darts" to the inside piece. It may even need two pieces of leather to be stitched together to form the inside piece. But I think that a two sided holster can be made that won't have the printing issues. It will just require a bit of extra effort and attention to details.

Yep. My 2 side Recluse keeps sweat off the slide of my RM380.

Speaking of moisture, I have been noticing moisture condensing on the cowhide magazine holster that I keep in my rear pocket. That moisture is coming right through the denim of my jeans. I haven't actually noticed any salt from sweat, but the moisture is certainly coming through.

Considering that the fabric of an inside front pocket is much thinner than the denim of my jeans, and sweat could easily come through it, I can certainly see the need for the two sided holster. That was one of my deciding factors for buying the Recluse two sided pocket holster.

From the Recluse website: "Horsehide compared to steer hide has a higher density and is non-porous with the primary benefit that the horsehide repels moisture, sweat, etc. much better."

If this is true, it also seems like the horsehide is a better choice for a pocket holster.

I wear cutoff jeans. I carry my P365X in my right front pocket and carry one magazine in a holster inside my left rear pocket when the temperature is at least 60°F. Below that temperature I'm usually wearing full length jeans.

The Ventilated Recluse Holster.

I bought a set of leather punches and an edge beveler. In particular, beveling the top edge of the holster makes it less likely for my fingernails to catch on the edge during a draw. Also, in the lower right section where the stitching is horizontal, I did some additional beveling. It just makes it smoother and less likely for my fingernails to catch on the edges of the leather during a draw.

I also punched quite a few holes to improve the ventilation. I did not punch holes into the inside leather flap as that should be more of a moisture barrier. Otherwise I punched holes wherever I thought that I could get away with it. There is a section where I did not punch any holes and there I was worried that my fingernails could catch on the holes in the leather.

When I recreate this holster with the smooth side of the horsehide inward, I will punch smaller diameter holes to reduce the chance of my fingernails catching on the holes.

I don't know how good or bad this set of punches is, but they got the job done and punch much cleaner holes than the rotary hand punch that I was using before.
