Hi guys!

Have any of you guys noticed how bad the recoil is for this model?
I have shot the 3006,7mmMag,45-70.
I load the cartridge to its potential, but not past maximum charges.

It seems Like the recoil absorbtion of the buttstock causes the rifle to move back towards the shooters face. Kind of exaggerates the recoil.

Has anyone else noticed how the standard non recoiling/compressing Encore butt stocks handle recoil better?

What does this have to do with reloading?

You say you load them to there potential. Sounds like your loading them way hotter then need be? What is your point loading hot?

Ime the encore isn't an especially recoil friendly platform. They're light and have a fairly high bore axis in relationship to the stock.

With heavy hitting calibers you really must watch your eye relief because of the way encores tend to roll up under heavy recoil. I had a 460 barrel that was downright scary to try to shoot that even sheared off a scope ring!!

Just me but I wouldn't use a big bore barrel for anything but trapdoor level powder puff loads. That'll still kill anything but wont detach your retana. A flex tech stock helps but doesn't cure the roll problem

Thankyou dale!

My 45-70 barrel just comes alive! Lol! It the 20" Katadin model.
With black powder, traillboss, triple seven its just fine. But with mid range loads of H4198 and a 350grain hornady flat point, ouch!

Funny thing is, my 50cal muzzle loader barrel is a dream to shoot!

Kingmt:

I am loading my Ammo to the normal ranges of each cartridge. Near the top end of performance, but certainly not HOT.
