Recoil spring for .38 super

I recently acquired a new High Standard .38 super. When shooting it the slide recoils more violently than I'm comfortable with. What weight recoil spring should I upgrade to?

You might go to the Wolff springs web page for information. They listed the factory spring for a colt 38 super as 14 pounds. They probably have other weights depending on you usage. I used their springs in my 45 acps.

Thanks I just ordered one of their recoil spring calibration kits. It comes with a set of springs. 16lbs up to 24lbs. One of those is sure to work.
