I recently picked up a blued Colt Gov't 380 made in (from memory) 1989. It's in great shape other than an idiot scratch that I'm going to have to live with.

The slide is quite easy to operate and I'm not certain if that's common or if the spring is tired.

I've just ordered a Wolff 12lbs recoil spring, though I'm getting conflicting information on what the stock spring is suppose to be. The consensus is 11 lbs, though I've read as low as 10 lbs and some say 12 lbs.

The spring I've ordered is advertised as "extra power". Are there any real concerns using this spring with standard FMJ ammunition (specifically Geco and RWS FMJ) presuming it cycles?
