I think that puts you into the
Vortex 2-7x32 or the
Leatherwood 2-7x32 scout scopes.
Otherwise, maybe a Labor Day sale is coming that will bring a Burris, Weaver, or Leupold in your price range.
I only have experience with a fixed power Burris and a fixed power Weaver*. Both bought on sales for right at $180 a piece. Also, both are lighter and shorter than a variable scope, plus they have a focusable eyepiece which the fixed power Leupold Scout does not have.
Note: The Weaver 4x28 scout is not a 14 ounce scope like some websites show. It is a 7 ounce scope. Look at post #11 in this
thread.
