What is the best survival/prepper forum?--one that is as good in survival as THR is in guns?

http://survivalblog.com/ is considered the best blog by many.

http://www.whenshtf.com/forum.php is one forum, how good, you decide.

+1 for whenshtf.com. I like it for the relatively low amount of conspiracy whackos and fringe stuff.

Although discussing Zombies is taboo on THR, The Zombie Squad make it their bread and butter. ZS is a very community oriented site that has quite a bit of non-zombie survival discussions. They are also conspiracy and politics free.

FerFal's http://www.themodernsurvivalist.com/ is quite a good site. He has lived through a pretty severe economic disaster in Argentina (he recently bugged-out to Ireland.) He spends no time on TEOTWAWKI scenarios and focuses on more common and mundane disasters.

The above mentioned sites are all great.
I am not sure exactly why the mods here freak out over SHTF scenarios, but they do.

Also, they don't like to discuss politics, despite the fact that politics are the essence of the 2nd Amendment's survival.

Zombie Squad has some very original ideas, from very out of the box thinkers.

Might seem nitpicky, but moving to another country isn't bugging out, unless you did it with a few minutes notice and with very few posessions (like my co-worker from Kosovo who came here as a refugee of war).

Bugging out is when you have to leave with little notice.

If we don't police our terms, they'll eventually get watered down to meaninglessness. For example, a "KISS Rifle" (keep it simple stupid) used to be a plain AR with fixed sights and no optics or rails, and now includes every single AR ever made even if it is in no way simple.

www.ferfal.blogspot.com +2

Sadly Argentina is going Fascist/Authoritarian Govt. quickly. It's going to get very bad there, much like Venezuela. Sane and smart move to leave in his case.

Read the blog by Ferfal a bit, he's been documenting it's worsening and losing rational Govt. there over the last 12 years or so. Crime and corruption have gone crazy and everyone blames the "not extremely poor" for things yet ignores the mostly crooked Billionaires in power in Argentina. He's seen Argentina collapse and reminds people "life goes on" and doesn't go "Mad Max", it just gets complicated.

Sadly, another bad variant of the usual 3rd world country political garbage encouraged by Marx and Che.

I don't know if you read his blog, but FerFal describes his leaving Argentina as a Bug Out, but also a relocation. He does draw a distinction between the two, but what he did had elements of both. They left the country with some money, a few suitcases holding their remaining possessions, and at relatively short notice.

As to policing our terms, two things:

1. I may have a legitimately different definition of a term than you, especially terms that don't really exist in Websters. Words mean things, sure, but context matters too.
2. What I do to prepare may not always fit into a neat box of predefined terminology. For example, I have a Get Home Bag that also doubles as a Bug Out Bag. Is that impossible because those words mean different things?
