Can anyone recommend a hammer fired subcompact .40?

I need something slim and highly concealable.

Thanks.

The CZ RAMI is the smallest hammer-fired subcompact .40 around that I can think of. Postings here seem to indicate that it may not be as reliable as the 9mm Luger it was designed for. While not really "subcompact," the S&W 4013 and 4053 (DA/SA and DAO, respectively) are reasonably sized carry guns, although not as slender as their 9mm counterparts.

...

+1 on post # 4, covers it for the most part, except:

Beretta is about to release a new "medium" Px4 in 9 or 40cal and it is about the same size, maybe a tad thinner, as a Sig P229/40

3 models:

Px4 40 - full size

Px4 40 - mid size (coming soon, if not out)

Px4 SC - small, 9mm only

Could be the right DA/SA gun in 40, with the rotating barrel which does dampen the 40's recoil with no tilt-up action.. very forgiving gun

I have a full size Px4 40, some 10k rounds over 3yrs, not one jam, pure dependability and reliability our of the box. Very soft shooting 40cal, right up there with Sigs P229/40.. both very forgiving DA/SA hammered guns.

I own both and both are 100% good to go out of the box and both are "accurate" shooters..

SA EMP 1911 SAO 40cal - as good as it gets, as well. I have the 9mm EMP and it has some 4500 flawless rounds, as well. Accurate shooter

Luck,

Ls

About the smallest that I can think of is the Beretta Mini Cougar/Stoeger, but it is pretty big. If I went that big, I would go for a 1911 in .45 myself.

I carry a PM40 due to the thin profile and light weight; but no external hammer.
