Which pistol sounds the best and is most accurate?

I bought a walther p22 and suppressor years ago for my daughter. She took the pistol when she was old enough but I still have the suppressor and nothing to put it on.

Wouldn't the report be based on the ammo used?

Also depends on what you have in mind for the pistol, is it for carry or target work? A Browning Buckmark is excellent for the latter use.

I bought a TX22 expressly for the purpose of mounting a can on it from @MachIVshooter . I was not disappointed in the slightest. The gun cycles with regular Federal AutoMatch, some random flavor of CCI and Blazer. Quiet as can be too - it barely sounds like the gun is firing at all. As a bonus there is no gas or debris that ejects toward the shooter.

I only have the one pistol in .22 with a threaded barrel so all I can provide is a sample of one though.

What’s a tx22? Is that the Taurus?

Yes of course ammo plays a role. But I meant given the same ammo what’s quieter. Some of the noise comes from the action not the muzzle so some actions are louder than others

I had a 22/45 first but replaced it with a S&W M&P 22 because its more "Glock-like". What I would really prefer is a M&P 22 compact. As I understand, the compact has more options for things like suppressor height sights.

I use a Mark IV 22/45 Lite.

I will also say that the S&W Victory and Browning Buckmark have always seemed to score lots of points with shooters, too. I wouldn't turn one of those down, either.

Yes it's a Taurus. They run about $240-260 locally but that seems to be fairly representative on the web too from what I have seen.

The TX22 is offered in two different models - one with ambi safety levers, the other with none. They only have a slide release on the left side though. Magazine release might be reversible but I never mess with those despite being a lefty myself.

I just had to make the same decision. The suppressor is still in jail but I have the pistol waiting. I found a used Ruger Mk II with a 5.5" bull barrel and had Volquartsen thread it. I cannot wait to shoot that thing suppressed!

I have a mark II that is pretty accurate (10 shots in 3.5" at 100 yards) but I think my favorite pistol host is a glock with advantage arms upper on it. I had to machine mine and make my own adapter but they sell them now, ready to go.

My AA 1911 conversion will put 10 rounds in under an inch at 25, might get a threaded barrel for it some day.

I'm about to do a Form 1 build for my S&W 622 and 2213. If you can find one, they aren't too pricey, shoot amazingly well, and are, by all accounts, great suppressor hosts. The barrel being oriented at the bottom means the original sights clear a suppressor with ease and mitigates muzzle flip to the point that it's almost non-existent.

22/45, TX22, Glock 44, and my M4-22 pistol are my favorite 22 suppressor hosts, they all run fine though the TX has a few issues with CCI quiet. I haven't tried it in the Glock yet, imagine it'll be the same.

I'm having a extra barrel threaded for my High Standard. Plan to mount a red dot on the barrel. I have several barrels for different uses. I think any pistol with a easy barrel take down would be a plus with suppressor.
We also have factory threaded barrel Bersa Thunder for a lighter option.

BERSA has a pretty nice suppressor ready version of the BT22 that shoots pretty well.

I recently bought this GSG 1911 .22.

I traded for it, but i think it was less than $400. It has a threaded barrel, ambidextrous safety, multiple front sight options, and it came with a fake suppressor.
Beware: it has plastic components like safeties, sights, grips....

Whatever you get, make sure it's easy to clean - it will get much dirtier shooting suppressed. I have had the Walther and the Ruger Mk 4 22/45, I sold the Walther because the Ruger it is so much easier to clean. My Mk 4 came with a rail which made it easy to mount a red dot (Vortex Venom). There also appear to be better aftermarket parts for the Ruger Mk 4, not so sure about the Walther.
