Recommended Ballistics Software? & Shooter Ready help

I'm looking for my first ballistics software package to go with my new Savage 10FP. I'm new to rifle shooting, so training/education information included would also be helpful.

Also on the software front; I purchased the Shooter Ready program a while back. I've gone through the training segments and believe I have a fairly good idea on what's going on. However, the one section that gives me fits is windage. I don't find the explaination on conversion from inches to MOA clear at all. Can anyone suggest a source/book/etc?
 
MOA is equal to 1.047" at 100 yds, thus a 2 "MOA" drift would be 2.094 inches per 100 yd. For most purposes one can figure a MOA is equal to 1 in per 100 yd. You would have to be a long ways out or have a gale force wind before the 0.047" would matter.
