I have heard that many of the cheap red dot scopes are not very useful in the daytime - the sun apparently washes out the dot totally.

This BSA Multidot Reflex site - anyone have any experience w/ it? WOuld it work on an outdoor range? Just trying to find alternatives to the expensive Eotech...

The BSA unit has adjustable brightness.

If you want one with "super-bright" and don't want to blow $350 on an Aimpoint, get the Hakko Propoint. Not bad, basically a knockoff of the Aimpoint, and bright enough to see in bright sunlight.

even w/ the adjustability, I had thought I prev read others saying that the BSA scopes don't work outside in bright sunlight. I'll google that one and see if I can find a cost...

i can vouch for ultradot cause i got one on my gp100. they run about $130.
no problem in bright sunlight, i actually left mine on for a week to run the battery down to get the lowest setting lower for hunting.

Not big on these brands knowledge wise. Ultradot is the Brand? I'll see if I can google it and find who sells them.

I might possibly by a Storm carbine. Just trying to figure out all of the associated costs...

PK- AS- W- russian military black dot /red dot- needs no power, black dot works great in most light- variable brightness red dot- weaver base - has 1 moa dot with 65 moa circle.about $220

I have a cheap BSA I believe, $20 clearance from K-Mart. on a 10/22 I gave my mom.
It works well in the daylight and holds zero despite being treated less than gingerly by mom.

I made a head shot on a turtle with it just last week, at noon

My p[roblem with it is at night
If you need itin a hurry it seems that you will always click it on the brightest setting.
what appears is a jagged J that sometimes blocks out the target somewhat.
I've made two not so clean kills on raccons at night

Lost In

red dot world. There is so many choices and price ranges and makers it is crazy... I don't want to spend $400 on one.
