Hi everyone, I've pretty much decided to get a Redding powder measure to compliment my old Ideal no. 55 and I'm most interested in either the Model 3BR with pistol and universal metering chambers or the Model 3 also with both chambers. Can anyone give me any preferences between the two and why? Thanks a bunch in advance.

I have 2 Model 3's that I use and have both chambers,I would'nt spend the extra for the 3br as both my Model 3s are very accurate. I use the small chambers for light pistol loads mounted on a turret press and charges don't vary 1/10 gr. Using the large chambers with 2400, 4227,296 in the 25 gr range (.44 mag) 1/10 max variation, 308 with ball powders in the 45gr range again about 1/10th max. The Redding measure is damn good! You can find them on E bay for about $40. Nick

I went ahead and ordered the model 3BR with the pistol chamber only and the Redding bench mount stand for about 12 buck more than I could have gotten the model 3 with both chambers, the powder baffle and no stand. I will get the large universal chamber later on as funds allow. Now I just have to pick up a bunch of primers and I'll be all set to reload again next week hopefully.
