Redhawk grips irritating my finger

Took the Redhawk to the range yesterday with the original grips on it. I have the Pachmayr Presentation grips but they are butt ugly IMO, so I put the original grips back on. The hole on the left side for the screw was really irritating one of my fingers after a box of 50 rounds. My first thought was covering it up with some electrical tape when I shoot. Another idea was to fill the hole with clear silicone caulk, or something similar, or I could (gasp) get a right hand golf glove to use when I shoot this gun.

Anyone else have this issue and found a good solution?

I think the stock Redhawk grips look and feel good when you're just handling the gun. I don't find them comfortable to shoot with though. I just put Hogue hardwood grips on mine. Feels great, hopefully I'll like the way it shoots with them on.

For now I put the Pachmyars back on. The Badgers have a hole on the left side for mounting them, but being bigger they may fit my hand better. They do look nice!

Try to find these grips that I have on my to Redhawks, They are made by Uncle Mike’s and they’re very hard to find since they’re no longer made. They are much more comfortable than the Pachmeir Presentation grips and I love the finger grooves. With hot loads they make the gun very controllable.

I bounced around between the original grips and Pachmayrs and was never happy. The 7.5 " barrel is a different proposition than a shorter barrel and it took a lot of searching. These are Herret's Custom Shooting Star stocks and they make the revolver feel just right. Big grips but it truly is a big hunk of iron. This one goes in the "never sell or trade" pile for sure and the grips are a big part of it. Happy trails.

I bought my Redhawk grips (Uncle Mike's ) off eBay new for $18 back in 2010. Love em. Have a set on my GP100 and my Taurus 85 and my Ruger P85. Best grips going.

I'm very pleased with the Pachmayr presentation grips for the Red Hawk.

I have had Herret’s on several revolvers and really like them!

I usually just give up and go with the ugly Pachmayrs. (Or other similar big ugly black soft plastic grips.)

I won't put them on a SA revolver, though. That would be an abomination.
