Thinking about refinishing my CZ82, I think it's enamel coating (original). Would automotive paint remover work best or just a light sanding then apply my paint finish and sealer?

Tried some CitrisStrip on a small part, yup, it's an enamel coating so I'm currently using the stripper to remove the enamel from the slide.

What kind of paint are you going to use?
About 3 coats of Kylon or Rustoleum (which ever of the two I have) followed by multiple applications of a clear coat. The clear coat will make the paint job as durable as Duracoat at half the price. I'm debating if I want to subtle camo paint it or not, was thinking FDE base with brown kinda like this.

Or I could do maybe an "urban" theme or just leave it FDE.

Of course I could always match my finished shotgun, flectarn pattern.

For that little bit!?!?! Oh, for goodness sakes, leave it alone!! From someone who's "been there, tried that" it's not worth it.

It looks like you did a nice and thorough job. It doesn't look quite right FDE to me. I'd have left it be or gone with another black finish.

Well done though.
