Thinking about refinishing my CZ82, I think it's enamel coating (original). Would automotive paint remover work best or just a light sanding then apply my paint finish and sealer?
About 3 coats of Kylon or Rustoleum (which ever of the two I have) followed by multiple applications of a clear coat. The clear coat will make the paint job as durable as Duracoat at half the price. I'm debating if I want to subtle camo paint it or not, was thinking FDE base with brown kinda like this.
Or I could do maybe an "urban" theme or just leave it FDE.
Of course I could always match my finished shotgun, flectarn pattern.
Sorry, but if it was mine, at this point I'd just start over and strip and polish it. The metal CZ used in that era deblues easily and polishes up nicely. This is an example of a VZ-70 that I did that way:
