Refusing a gun shipped to you through FFL

Yeah, that doesn't make sense.

The fact that a gun you bought from someone else didn't meet your standards shouldn't have bothered him at all.

If you were willing to pay his shipping/handling fee to return the gun, he shouldn't have been upset about that either. It's a service he provides and he quoted the price. If he's unhappy, he's the one to blame for offering a service that he doesn't want to perform and/or charging insufficiently for it.

If he blacklisted you for that, I'd say he did you a favor. You might let other folks know who the guy is so they don't get mixed up with him.
 
I've only used two FFLs for purchased items. Both are kitchen table type guys, but I've never had a bad experience with either.
But then again, I stopped buying used guns a long time ago.
