Well, to make a long story short, we got a new shop teacher at school. And the criterea for our project is, something you will use, and free standing. So i have been using a horrible messed up table for now. But now that i have the chance I want to build something alot better. So any ideas... drawings.... plans... pictures etc would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks

Pick up this month's Popular Mechanics magazine. It has blueprints for a shop table that looks like it would fit the bill nicely.

The bench plan available from the National Reloading Manufacturers' Association is what I consider to be the "standard" loader's bench.

It is NOT a simple bench and the plan is designed for a 6ft/2in twit like me but it's GREAT for loading. I have built two over thirty years, the second only five months ago. (Air Farce contract warehouse thieves stole my first one while it was in household goods storage.)

It's possible to build it for less than $500 -- and I even used birch and oak laminates. Skill level required is minimal. I'm NOT a carpenter, much less a cabinetmaker and normally work with metal.

The plan is available from the NRMA but downloads are available. Google "reloading benches".
