Relativistic Mass Increase of a Bullet

So velocity increases mass? Well that explains it. The faster pace of modern life has given me the illusion of gaining a few pounds. I better prop my feet up and slow down a bit.:D

Are you sure the bullet is moving away from you? How do you know that you are not moving away from the bullet? Maybe YOU are increasing in mass? Maybe YOU need to go on a diet!

So, if we're standing on the hull of a starship traveling at the speed of light and I fire a bullet...wait...nevermind...

Head hurt. Must go lie down. :D

Googling, didn't get me crap. Can you explain what a "Hellbore" is?
I see we have another Bolo fan here...

The Hellbore was/is the main armament of a Bolo (30,000-tonne science fiction supertank; awesome series, BTW). IIRC, it consists of an extremely powerful thermonuclear cannon analogous to a (real) compact toroid generator, piggybacked on a high-megawatt-range laser. The laser fires first to clear a path through the atmosphere for the particle beam, which fires as soon as the path is evacuated; particles are in the very high relativistic range, with beam energy densities of several megatons/second...:D
