I'm looking for a relible concealed carry ,preferably pocket carry 45ac pistol, saw a Kahr cw 45acp, at the gun shop this morning, does anyone have experience with this gun or a better option, i currently use a Keltec Pf9, but want another choice i case that one folds on me thx...

Buddy of mine has the Kahr .45 and he really likes it, i've shot it during one range session (about 75 rds) and it was a very accurate weapon (was shooting at 15 yrd line), not sure i would enjoy shooting more than that at a time though. Seemed to me to be a very good choice it you are looking for something that small. I carry a Kimber Tactical Ultra II, a little large to try pocket it carry, but i use a IWB holster and have no problems with that.

I have a couple that marginally could be called pocket pieces. One is the 10+1 round Taurus pt145 that I have been exceedingly happy with. However, my friend has seen poor reliability with his. I sound like a broken record when I say it is a wonder of ergonomics and compactness. Price is right too.
To find a different one that you could be pretty sure would function well out of the box, you could go with the GLOCK 36. It's a 6+1. I have actually carried it in in my pocket on a couple occasions and I was able to pull it off. But it's really more at home on a hip. It has legendary reliability, though it's my least favorite of the GLOCKs because of its snappy recoil.
There is one more I could mention which will fit in a pocket. But mine is currently not working. It's the Para Ordnance C6 light double action pistol. It's a tiny powerhouse (though heavier), but alas mine has not proven reliable to this point. Hope you find something you fall in love with.
One other thing. If you're just looking to step up in power from the 9mm, consider a .40. They have demonstrated good performance and can be had in the same sized guns as their 9mm cousins. Not real comfortable to shoot sometimes, but for a carry gun they're a good choice. In 40cal, I'd consider the Kahrs, the Kel-tec 40 if you can find one, the glocks, & the springfields. I'm sure there are other good choices I'm forgetting.

Kimber makes a great one but pricey. I am carring a Armscor "High Standard" in 45acp. 3.5" barrel and with officer size mags, 7+1 works for me.
Truth be told, I generally carry the Charter Arms 3" 44 special, but when I get antsy, the this 3.5" 45 goes where I do. I have put about 500 rounds down the pipe in the last 2 months without a burp. When I get to around 2K or more, then I will know for sure.

It is the smallest and lightest .45 auto available. I sometimes pocket carry mine but it is too large for some pockets. A bit of a handful to shoot but has a nice DAO trigger and is accurate with practice. Mine had to go back to Kahr once for repairs under warranty but has been 100% since. Other owners have reported zero problems with theirs. Glock 36's and Taurus PT145's are good options and are a little larger than the Kahr. The Cobra Patriot is another to consider - I also own one and it has been reliable with 230gr ammo. And cheap at about $225.

I have the Kahr CW45 and it has become my EDC. Bought it used with unknown rounds through it and it has been flawless. Very accurate and very easy to shoot. Have a CW9, also, and it has been the same. It is my Sunday carry.

My Glock 36 has over 1K rounds through it now. Only malfunctions were stovepipes by new shooters who had a sloppy grip, it's never failed to put rounds downrange for me. Simple, cheap, extremely concealable, and I don't worry about dinging it up or getting sweat/atmospheric whatever all over it like I do my Kimber (which I sometimes carry).

Bersa 45 is much liked by owners. Most bersas are quite reliable. The two I have are and I've been thinking of adding the 45.
Super slim, dead azz reliable and lightweight (with it's aluminum frame), my choice is/was the original-type series Kimber Ultra CDP when it first came out in 2000.
The "melt-down" package made it even more concealable and it came with nightsights and ambi-safety . . . VERY important to this lefty. It is very accurate too and super easy to conceal.
Heck . . . it isn't much bigger than a J-frame, as seen here, and weighs the same as this Model 36 steel frame (23 oz.) empty.
It is also narrower than just about anything else as a concealment piece. Here again, comparing it with a J frame S&W snubbie, in this case an Airweight, 15 oz. Model 37:
Sure, the Kimber is "expensive," but what is your life worth . . . or, if you live, what will the hospital bill be if you skimp on a gun that fails to protect you?

It's 7+1 and I'm carrying it in the front pocket of jeans with an untucked polo shirt. The pistol hooks into my pocket like it was made to do that - grip is out, no holster at all. An in-pocket Mexican carry that presents faster than any holster I own, feels 100% secure, and doesn't require any tedious holster/belt changing/arranging.
Turns out to be the simplest and best way to carry a serious pistol and makes me wish I had back all the bucks that have gone to holsters, beltster, other guns, etc. etc. and ETC.
I still carry other guns depending, but that New Agent proved it's place in my gunpatch as soon as I just slipped it into my pocket one day for a quick trip. Kinda' surprised me to tell the truth, after all the various travail I've put myself through over the summertime carry problem.
If I can get used to having my wallet on the wrong side I think I'll try doing the same thing with a back pocket. The gun is skinnier than my wallet is most of the time
