'Tween swamp and sun!
There are a lot of great, informative threads and a slew of heavy topics discussed on THR. This is not one of them. :D

Instead, how 'bout a lighter-side look at some loads that didn't turn out quite like the ones in the Lee brochure. LOL!

I keep a bunch of these on the shelf as a "Hall of Shame", and as a reminder that you need to keep your focus when reloading. Not all of these are mine, and many that are, came from a few years ago, when I was just getting up to speed on reloading (setting up dies, etc).

If anyone has any bloopers that they'd like to share, feel free to do so. This isn't ALL about me! :banghead:

This little .38 just couldn't take the pressure. A little more bell on the casing fixed this one, if I recall. I think the bullet is a Missouri Zinger 140gr.

44 or 45, whatever it takes!

That somewhat similar quote worked on the big screen, but not so much on the loading bench. THIS is what happens when you try to sqeeze a .45 ACP shell into a .44 Magnum casing.

Gives it a bit of a muffin-top!

(no, it's not MY handiwork)

I keep all my rejects in a glass jar next to the desk, although some are just cases that were accidentally primed (i've mistaken 380 brass for 9mm several times).

Not exactly the same... This happened to me tonight. A spent primer made its way into an empty when I was cleaning up a bit. I put it in the press and skewered a primer! LOL! It pulled right off, but had me shaking my head.

I've got an Akro bin full of bad loads. Some have brass damage, bullet damage, and some are just dummy rounds from setting oal various times.

I figure if I'm ever really desperate for projectiles, I can pull em. Then again, I hope i never that needy.

That's really funny but I shouldn't laugh, I was there once myself.

Here's some from my wall of shame. This was from about 40 years ago but they still apply. I save them too.

The .357 was more recent and the crappy picture doesn't show that I ripped the rim off the case with my first bullet puller.

I cant remember how many 38 special or 357 Mag cases I've crunched. I finally got it right.
I used to have a very hard time with 45 ACP. They never would chamber properly, then I discovered I was crimping to heavy. Problem solved.

All were a valuable lesson learned. I now have several case gauges and I use them regularly just to check my work.

If I crush a case mostly I pull it down and save the powder and bullet. Case goes to scrap bucket.

Ever wonder how far down IN that bullet goes?

Here's one that's a little rough for those who regularly purchase .50 Action Express rounds over the counter. Sure, it's a rebuild, but it's serviceable life ended so early. :(
