Last year I picked up a S&W M1903 Hand Ejector made around 1909. I got it for $125 because it had a rough nickel finish and was out of time. The timing issue was solved by detail-stripping the gun and removing a century worth of crud from the action. The cruddy nickel finish succumbed to abrasives and care, and I re-blued the gun. It's definitely a shooter, and after paying the price for one box of ammo I've ordered reloading dies.

It looks pretty straight forward to reload- I'll be searching up info on mid-range loads for target-shooting. The question I have is can these dies also be used for .32 S&W (short?) I've had great success with loading .38 S&W with .38 Special dies, so naturally I have to wonder if it will work for the smaller cartridge as well.

Also any random experience etc. would be welcome.

Everything except crimping. The seating/crimp die MAY be too tall inside to allow the case mouth to be impinged by the crimping feature of the die.
Similar to trying to crimp .38spl with a .357mag die.

You can either;

1. Grind down the base of the seat/crimp die enough to allow crimping, or

2. Order a taper crimp die, or .32S&W Short crimp/seat die. Also, a .32acp seat/crimp die will work.

The die MAY be short enough already. I suggest you try and see first. You might be pleasantly surprised.

This. I know the Lyman & Lee seaters will.

My .32 Long set is a Lyman sizer, a Lyman M Die expander, a Hornady sleeved seater with a Micro top, and a Lyman seater with the stem removed. It is marked .32 Long, .32 ACP, and the crimp ledge is close enough to the mouth to crimp .32 Long.

My .32 Mag set is the same sizer, another M Die expander, the same Hornady seater, a Redding taper crimp die marked Long & Mag which will not do .32 Short, and a Lee .32 ACP/.32 Long/.32 mag seater with no stem that will crimp .32 Long.
