Can anyone tell me how high I should have my reloading bench with a Dillion and a strong mount attachment. I am 5'5".

Bench heighth isn't that important. It's stool heighth that is important. My bench is 38" high, my stool is 24" high and I'm 5' 7".

Set up your bench then figure out where you want to sit and how high. (unless you're afraid of high places:D )

If you are standing, the top of the bench should hit your belt buckle. This is good for me for sitting or standing.

Loading bench height ideas ....

I agree with PaulTX, it makes for a comfortable working height when standing. Get yourself a swiveling "bar stool" that puts your elbows just above the bench top for the same comfort when seated.

Save your back some pain by blocking your press up so that you can fully depress the handle without having to bend over. I raised my Rock Chucker with two layers of 2x6 board (actually making the press sit 3" above the bench top).

Consider installing a sturdy 3 or 4 inch swiveling "machinists" vise on one end of your bench. A vise is handy in itself and also can hold other tools - case trimmer, power dispenser, small grinder, etc., - if you mount them on wood blocks.

I envy you, Bushmaster. I've never mastered the art of reloading from a seated position. It just doesn't feel right.

I'm exactly the opposite! I tried standing just once, couldn't sit down fast enough. I suppose an office worker that sits all day long might enjoy standing for a while, but I'm on my feet ALL day at work. I'm not about to stand while loading.

My 3 benches are 2 at 30 1/2 the third is 29.5. I'm 5-11 they are comfortable when sitting in my old wood swivel office chair.

For shotshell reloading I can't get comfortable unless I'm standing. For metallic cartridge reloading I am not comfortable unless I'm sitting.

20yearvet...See what happens when you only serve for 20 years. It confuses ya. Do 22 and see what happens. I have no problem sitting during reloading operations. Not even any guilt...20 years...Honored to know ya.:)

Look how clean.... you did that just for the pic. My wife would pass out from dis-belief if I cleaned up my room like that. If cleanliness is next to Godliness, then I'm gonna be a crispy critter... Hahahahahaha:D

I also like to sit when reloading. I'm only 5'8" so I built my bench at 29". Works great with the rockchucker. Use a desk chair with wheels.
