I have been reloading 125Gr. hollow points in my 38 Special. I have been using a load of 6.5 grains of IMR800X with fine results. I just purchased Hornady 125 Gr.XTP bullets and I read in my Lee reloading manual a seperate section for the Hornady XTP bullets of which it does not list IMR800X powder. I have also noticed that my Speer,Lyman, and Sierra manuals do not have a seperate section for XTP bullets. Is there any differance or need to alter my load?

Well, Speer & Sierra don't make Hornady XTP bullets.
So there would not be any load data for them in those manuals.

Lyman #49 does list the Hornady #35710 on page 353.
That bullet is the 125 grain XTP.

There is no data for 800X on Hodgdons manual for either .38 Spl, or .38 Spl +P.

The Hornady manual does list it however, with a 5.6 Starting load, and a +P 7.5 MAX load.
