Hello All!
I'm about to get involved in reloading for shotshells. I'm interested in loading buckshot loads (#4 buckshot) in 2-3/4" 12 gauge shells. I already have "The ABC's of Reloading" (which doesn't cover shotshell reloading - that's for .308 reloading when I get to it later next year) and BPI's "Advantages IV" book on shotshell reloading. It doesn't go into detail for reloading buckshot.
I have been shooting my home defense pump shotgun at the range, and I would like to move up to small buckshot (apartment). What I don't know is, is whether I can reload with the Winchester Super Speed Xtra shells from Wal Mart. They're the 2-3/4" shells in a white box. It is NOT listed on Winchester's web site, and they do NOT post a phone number anywhere on their web site. I can't determine whether they are safe for reloading and if so, whether they are tapered or straight-walled hulls. The inside dimensions on these things can affect the performance of all these components put together.
